Still loving the Retro Smock Tops... Really digging these front button 70s style ones!
...And the 40s/50s Style ones!
Something like this paired with Leggings! |
I was loving these 40s smock dresses so much, that I bought this pattern off etsy.
(I especially like the diamond oriented pockets.)
IS IT SUMMER YET?!
Oh My God! These are so cute! The designs appeal to me hugely. They're exactly what I like. How nice that we share the same taste in fashion. And the diamond pockets are super-cool.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I just wrote a nice post extolling your virtues which I'm going to put up in an hour or two after I take some pictures. I hope you like it!
It's up! http://shybiker.blogspot.com/2014/01/friends.html
DeleteHi Sweetie! Got your message. I'd be honored if you used any of my pix. Do anything you'd like.
DeleteHi Aimee! Visiting via Shybiker's post! What a thoughtful gift you made! I'm a sewer too, and my goal this year is to sew up some fun spring/summer clothing before the end of summer, LOL. Wow! It looks like Joann's has some good sales. We don't often get bargains like that up here in Canada. I love the 50's patterns, and must check out the books!
ReplyDeletehi Aimee! I saw your beautiful apron over at SHYBIKER's blog. Very nice!! And I love those patterns you have on here today-- I have a whole box similar to these that my grandmother gave me-- I made a bunch of things years ago and have yet to find the right fabric to make more. Your stuff is very lovely, you are so creative!!!
ReplyDeletenice to meet you :)
Thank you! Hand-me-down patterns are just the best, aren't they?!
DeleteI love smocks too, and just bought a pattern off eBay from the 30's. Mine is really baggy though, because I have a bit of mid-life bulge that I'm trying to disguise. ;o)
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of fabric are you planning to use for your smock?
I'll probably use quilter's cottons... that's what I tend to make all of my summer dresses out of... light weight and so many beautiful options!
